Lionel Messi stamp on Mikel Merino should have cost him red card; social media claims
Lionel Messi stamped on Real Sociedad played Diego Llorente, many are accusing Messi of venting frustration on the pitch in La Liga match.
Recent reports on Lionel Messi do signal that the Argentine International is not having a good time at Barcelona. Many fans are now alleging that his frustration with the club is affecting his behaviour on the pitch.
In the match against Real Sociedad, Messi was caught making a stamp on Diego Llorente. Although, it can be argued that the Argentine International probably did not do it intentionally.
However, football lovers are not ready to let Messi escape from this instance, as many advocated that Messi should have been shown a red card when he made the alleged stamp on Merino.
Messi and Llorente competed for the ball when the Sociedad man fell to the ground. Off-balance, Messi’s momentum carried him forwards and he stepped on Llorente’s ankle.

Later in the game, Messi was shown a yellow card while attempting a sliding tackle upon Mikel Merino ended up being caught by him. Nevertheless, a thrilling encounter between both sides.

Barcelona, in the end, earned three points with a marginal victory after Messi scored a free-kick, rewarded by the VAR after it caught Mikel Oyarzabal making a handball inside his won 18-yard-box.
