Real Madrid News: Serbian Prime Minister hits out at Luka Jovic as the player allegedly shows negligence amidst the threat of the COVID-19.

Last week only, Real Madrid suspended all of its activities after a member of their sister basketball team tested positive for COVID-19, which even propelled Spanish RFEF to suspend the league.

All the players were told to self-isolate themselves for next 15 days. However, according to the Marca, Luka Jovic has received criticism from the Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic for allegedly ignoring the quarantine in his native country.

“Unfortunately, we have negative examples being set by our football stars,” Brnabic said. “They earn millions and ignore mandatory self-isolation orders upon returning home.”

The country’s president, Aleksandar Vucic, came down even harder on Jovic. “If he leaves his apartment he’ll be arrested,” Vucic added. “I think he regrets what he’s done, but I’ll make it clear to him that the lives of our people are more important than his millions.”

Later, Jovic came in public and apologized for his alleged actions, but still, there seemed to be a lack of acceptance by the Real Madrid superstar.

“I am very sorry that some people haven’t done their job in giving me the right instructions on how to act during isolation,” he said.

Real Madrid is yet to respond to his alleged activity, even though the club took immediate action against the Coronavirus threat. Whereas, the suspension of the league led to huge prevention.

Few days after the league suspension, few Valencia players and staff were tested positive of the Coronavirus, and if the league even had been played behind closed doors, things would have gone worse.

As the things stand, La Liga might be suspended even further, as the rate of cases are not going down, as they were assumed to be earlier.
