Yuvraj Singh laments lack of support: The former Indian all-rounder opened up on receiving less support during the second half of his career.

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh believes that the outbreak of a “pandemic” in the novel COVID-19 has its advantages and disadvantages and that people should visit health-related websites to understand the disease in the best possible manner.

“I think this has its advantages and disadvantages. It’s heartbreaking to see so many people dying all over the world. It is spreading so fast. People, rather than panicking, should visit the official health sites [WHO and Union Health Ministry[ to really understand what the disease is,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying by Sportstar.

Post his retirement from international cricket last year, Yuvraj captained Toronto Nationals in the second season of the Global T20 League 2019 and represented Maratha Arabians in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

The 38-year old also traveled to Australia to take part in the Bushfire relief match in addition to playing for India Legends in the Road Safety World Series.

Opening up on the captain he has played under, Yuvraj lamented the lack of support in the second half of his career under the likes of former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and current India captain Virat Kohli.

“I have played under Sourav [Ganguly] and had a lot of support from him. Then Mahi [MS Dhoni] took over. It’s a difficult choice to make between Sourav and Mahi. I have more memories of time under Sourav because of the support he gave me. I didn’t have that kind of support from Mahi and Virat [Kohli],” Yuvraj said.

Yuvraj, who made his ODI debut under Ganguly in 2000, went on to play 110 ODIs under the current BCCI President. Yuvraj scored 2,640 ODI runs at an average of 30.69 and a strike rate of 86.47 under Ganguly.

As far as playing under Dhoni is concerned, Yuvraj scored 3,077 runs in 104 ODIs at an average of 36.20 and a strike rate of 88.21 including six centuries and 21 half-centuries.

Yuvraj, who played only 11 ODIs under Kohli, scored 372 runs at an average of 41.33 and a strike rate of 98.67 including a career-best 150 (127) against England in 2017.

As far as T20Is are concerned, 55 out of Yuvraj 58 T20Is came under Dhoni with the remaining three coming under Kohli in 2017.
