Vijay Goel: Bilateral series with Pakistan will be difficult because Terror and Cricket can’t go hand-in-hand”
BCCI and PCB have been reportedly working towards a India-Pakistan bilateral series to satiate the cricket lusts of fans in both these counties. It has been a long time since these two cricket frenzy nations got involved in a one on one battle, and both the cricket boards were looking forward to it, until today, when Vijay Goel said that a bilateral series between these two countries is just not a possibility.
The Sports Minister has time and again come out and said that sporting ties of any kind won’t be possible between the two nations, unless Pakistan stops state sponsored terrorism.

“BCCI must talk to government first before proceeding. Bilateral series with Pakistan will be difficult because terror and cricket can’t go hand-in-hand,” Goel said.
“Pakistan is spreading terrorism in Kashmir, indulging in cross-border terrorism. In these cases, we can’t have bilateral series with Pakistan,” he added.
Goel came up with these comments after the BCCI and PCB revealed that they were scheduled to have a meeting in Dubai to discuss the possibility of a bilateral series.
We are not averse to a bilateral series with Pakistan. But everything depends on whether the government gives the clearance,” is what Amitabh Chaudhary had said

“The series will not be possible without approval from the government,” he added.
With so much political tension between these two countries, it seems highly unlikely that there would be any sort of sporting interaction between these two nations, apart from international tournaments. With the Indian govt. taking a strong stance against state sponsored terrorism, the ball is essentially in Pakistan’s court.
