WWE Superstar and the reigning Intercontinental champion AJ Styles hints at WWE retirement. Says his mind and body are not on the same page.

At the age of 42 he is still one of the best in the business and continues to garner praise for his in-ring work. After a couple of WWE Title reigns and a slew of United States Championships, Styles is currently in his first reign as the promotion’s Intercontinental Champion.
In a recent interview, he revealed still being in love with wrestling and wanting to continue for as long as possible. However, he also admitted that his body did not feel the same.

“I definitely think I have more, I’m going to push this body to the limit,” Styles told Vicente Beltrán of ViBe & Wrestling. “I enjoy what I do, I respect what I do and I am proud of everything that happens in the ring so I’m going to do this as long as my body and my mind allow it.
“Many times my body and my mind argue with each other because my head tells me I can do it and my body tells me not to even try. I think you both have to agree and think maybe this is a good me to quit but when will that happen? This is something Undertaker has already talked about and it is something that happens every day because you love what you do.”
Styles is scheduled to face Matt Riddle in the upcoming episode of SmackDown. It is likely that he will retain his championship with their match being the basis of a possible feud heading into the future.
