A set of tyres can make or break a race for the driver, a swift burst in them and the race is gone. Whereas, nothing else makes a driver more worried and nervous than a pit-stop.
Hence every driver needs to know their tyres and in and out, propelling them to judge the situation accordingly, this is something in which Lewis Hamilton is really good.
The current supply of Formula 1 tyres is upon the Italian company Pirelli, who is responsible for manufacturing it and providing the 13 sets of tyres before every race.
But have you ever wondered how much money does a single team spend on F1 tyres? As a matter of fact, comparing it to the spending on the rest of the car, tyres just take a fraction of it, but still, they are costly.

How much do F1 tyres cost?
After verifying with different sources, it has been found that a single set of F1 tyres cost around $2700. Considering every car is allotted 13 sets of tyres per Grand Prix, as declared by Formula 1, the money spent on them is heavy.
The usage of those sets is upon the driving style and decision of the team. But assuming that on an average a single driver uses 10 sets of tyres per Grand Prix that takes the amount to $270,000.
Moreover, with 21 races per season, this takes it to a staggering amount of $5.6 million per driver. Thus around $11 million for every team in a season. This final amount is purely on assumption and can be lower too depending upon the number of sets used by a team.
