Naseem Shah: Watch Pakistani pacer’s brutal bouncer hits Chris Woakes’ helmet
Naseem Shah: The Pakistani fast bowler welcome the English all-rounder in a hostile manner at the Old Trafford today.
During the third day of the first Test of the ongoing Pakistan’s tour of England in Manchester, Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah continued to bowl at soaring pace to outplay the English batsmen.
Shah, who was introduced into the attack in the 37th over today, didn’t let his pace drop in the first session. It was on the last delivery of the 45th over that Shah bowled a brutal bouncer to England all-rounder Chris Woakes.
With the ball hitting Woakes’ helmet, the right-hand batsman immediately underwent a concussion test as the game stopped for a few minutes.
Woakes, who came in to bat at No. 7 in the same over, wouldn’t have imagined such a vicious delivery first up. It is worth mentioning that it was Shah who dismissed England batsman Ollie Pope (62) in the same over.
Having scored 159/5 in 52 overs, England are still trailing by 167 runs in the first innings. While Pope and wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler (38*) registered a solid first session for the hosts, they will doubtlessly need contributions from their lower order in the next two sessions.
While the Pakistani pacers have continually tested the English batsmen in the match so far, the fifth and sixth session of the match should also bring their two leg-spinners into play.

How Twitterati reacted:
Naseem Shah has been very impressive. Nice action and has the ability to surprise the batsman with his extra pace. Got well set Ollie Pope with a ripper. Surprises Woakes with a bouncer. Pakistan are on top. Buttler will be the key for England #ENGvPAK

If Woakes can’t get behind the line against Naseem Shah, he should bat at 9 and not at 7. Shane Warne was earlier right about England calling bowlers who can bat decently as all-rounders. #ENGvPAK #PAKvENG #Cricket

Chris Woakes takes a thumping blow on the head as he ducks into a Naseem Shah bouncer, and England’s sub fielders bring out not just a selection of helmets but a whole kitbag. In fact, two!
