“Don’t want to deal with that kind of player”- Luka Doncic slams Marcus Morris for dirty play after playoff exit
Luka Doncic, who has been the victim of some physical play by Marcus Morris, remarked that he felt the 6’9″ forward intentionally tried to hurt him in the series.
The Dallas Mavericks have been knocked out of the first round of playoffs by a 4-2 margin by the superior LA Clippers. The young team can, however, take pride in how it performed on offense against one of the best defenses in the NBA. Luka Doncic was able to get what he wanted, when he wanted through the series.
Luka Doncic calls out Marcus Morris for dirty play
In the very first quarter of the game today, Marcus Morris was ejected for a flagrant 2 hostile act on Doncic. Morris sent Doncic flying to the floor, hitting him across the head dangerously after already having committed a shooting foul on him. This was a follow-up to Game 5, when footage emerged of Morris apparently trying to step on Doncic’s sprained left ankle.
In the post-game interview, Luka slammed Marcus Morris for his dirty play all through the series. He emphasised on how he hoped that the previous game encounter wasn’t on purpose. However, Morris’ antics in Game 6 makes it hard for him to believe that the Clippers star didn’t try and injure him on purpose.
He finally concluded by saying that he absolutely ‘did not want to deal with that kind of player’.
Mavericks’ Luka Doncic on Clippers’ Marcus Morris ejection: “Terrible foul. Two games in a row he did something like that. I really hoped the first one wasn’t on purpose but looking back at the foul this game, you know what I think. I don’t want to deal with that kind of player.” pic.twitter.com/em8UgPGjlB

Doncic finished the game with 36 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Despite his best efforts, the Mavericks fell into a 23-point hole in the 3rd quarter, one from which they never fully recovered. The starters were pulled by both teams from the game with the score at 111-96 to the Clippers and 1:45 remaining in the 4th quarter.
