Arun Jaitley Gives A Warning To The BCCI
Currently BCCI is going through a tough time in handling the recommendations made by the Lodha Commitee. Now this has become quite apparent since Arun Jaitley has asked the BCCI not to confront the Supreme Court regarding this issue. One has to note that Arun Jaitley is an eminent lawyer and has also served as the vice president of the BCCI and President of the Delhi and District Cricket Association previously.
On Saturday the BCCI’s special committee comprising of Amitabh Choudhury (BCCI Secretary) , Anirudh Choudhury (BCCI Treasurer) , Rajiv Shukla(Head of committee) and Jay Shah (Member of the committee) had a meeting to discuss and identify the critical points in the implementation and to prepare a shortlist of the recommendations that the BCCI does not agree with.

Arun Jaitley had remarked said that there would be only three or four genuine points of difficulty and that it can only be submitted to the Supreme court. He also warned that if the quantum of disagreement is too large then none of the points will be considered.
The three recommendations that the committee had shortlisted is to be presented before the Supreme court. The ones in question were : one state-one vote ; a three-man selection committee ; and having a three-year cooling-off period for an office bearer after every term of three years . Jaitley agreed on the cooling-off period recommendation.
The committee is likely to prune down the final list of recommendations on the 7th of July in Mumbai. The court hearing is scheduled on the 14th of July.
