“LeBron James is greatest player the universe has ever seen”: Frank Vogel snubs Michael Jordan in ‘GOAT talk’ post Lakers star’s 4th title
Frank Vogel has praise for Lakers superstar LeBron James after the Lakers win the 2020 NBA Championship.
There is no doubt in any NBA fan’s mind that LeBron James has been nothing short of sensational in these ‘Bubble Playoffs’. Throughout the 2 months of the Playoffs, including the NBA Finals, LeBron James has proved that even at age 35, he is still the best player in the world.
All of James’s hard work culminated with him hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy along with the Bill Russell Finals MVP after demolishing the Miami Heat in 6 games.
With all the success LeBron James has brought the Lakers this season, Head Coach Frank Vogel sings James’s praise in his postgame presser.
Frank Vogel believes LeBron is the GOAT
Following the Game 6 victory, Frank Vogel sat down with the media and right off the bat, Vogel made sure everyone knew what he thought about LeBron James.
In a time when Jordan-LeBron debates are as ripe as they have ever been, Vogel said, “LeBron James is the greatest player the basketball universe has ever seen.”

He continued on by saying, “You think you know, but you don’t know. You don’t know until you’ve been around him every day.”
Has LeBron James surpassed Michael Jordan as the GOAT?
There is no definitive metric that can be used to accurately ‘measure’, who the greatest NBA player of all time is.
If an individual values only championships, they might believe Bill Russell is the GOAT as he has 11. If someone believes MVPs are all that matter, then Kareem Abdul-Jabbar might be their GOAT as he has 6 MVPs.
LeBron stans have been claiming he’s the GOAT for half a decade now and Jordan fans have been defending Jordan for almost 20 years. There is no definitive answer here as you cannot go wrong with either choice.
