“Lewis Hamilton has been very special”, Sachin Tendulkar Congratulates British Driver after his record breaking 91st GP win
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar delivers a wonderful message to Lewis Hamilton after his record-equaling 91st Grand Prix win at Nürburgring.
Reigning F1 champion Lewis Hamilton got closer to history yesterday after he won the Eifel Grand Prix at Nürburgring, Germany. This was his 91st win in F1, which has tied him with Michael Schumacher at the top.
With few races to go still this season, that record is a surety to be broken. This was acknowledged by Michael’s son Mick, who gifted Lewis a special Schumi-themed helmet.
Far away from Germany, he also received a surprise from the ‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar. The Indian great has traditionally been a huge fan of Michael Schumacher during the latter’s heydays at Ferrari.
In fact, their friendship was so strong Schumacher gifted Sachin a Ferrari during one of their meetings. That same Ferrari was the subject of the Indian movie ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’.
Sachin has a special message for Lewis Hamilton
Sachin sent a message to Hamilton on Twitter, calling him “very special”. He also wished him the best for the future, which can be implied as a loose reference to him breaking the elusive record. Hamilton expressed delight to have received this message and thanked the legend of the Gentlemen’s Game.
“Since the time you’ve taken up the sport, you’ve been very special. I have always liked your grit and balanced aggression while driving the F1 car. Congratulations on your 91st GP win equalling Schumacher’s record. Wishing you the very best for the future.”
Thank you for the kind words Sachin 🙏🏾
