‘Why do you always start something?’: Giannis Antetokounmpo responds to Heat trade claims by Nick Kyrgios

Giannis Antetokounmpo responded to Nick Kyrgios fueling rumors of the Greek Freak being enticed by the idea of joining the Miami Heat.

Tennis star Nick Kyrgios, who is of Greek origin, is a close friend of Giannis. The duo talked recently, and Kyrgios revealed that Giannis had a ‘big smile on his face’ when he talked about the latter joining the Miami Heat. Giannis has since shot down the rumors with a post on Twitter.

The tennis star responded with a dig at the sports media. On the Twitter thread, Kyrgios replied that people in this line of work are always looking for a story.

What are Giannis’s chances of ending up at Miami this season

This exchange took place before the Bucks made a couple of roster changes. They traded Eric Bledsoe, George Hill and 3 first round picks to the Pelicans in exchange for Jrue Holiday. The Bucks are also pairing Giannis with another shooter in Bogdan Bogdanovic, who arrived in Wisconsin through a sign-and-trade.

The Bucks would definitely not be looking to strengthen their roster this way if they weren’t planning on keeping Giannis for all of the next season. While Giannis being surrounded by shooters is a strategy that hasn’t had the desired yield in past years, they have to go all in on their best talent since Kareem.

One wonders how the franchise will deal with the situation if the Bucks are unable to dominate in the regular season up until the All Star Break.
