“I think if we are sly as a fox, we have a good chance”- Sebastian Vettel injects optimism of better tomorrow after Q2 elimination of Ferrari
“I think if we are sly as a fox, we have a good chance”- Sebastian Vettel hopes for better tomorrow despite getting a Q2 elimination.
Ferrari failed to shine in the qualifying round in Bahrain, with both Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc only managed to seal P11 and P12 grid start for the race day, after getting knocked out in the Q2.
Soon after the end of Q2, Vettel complained about an issue which probably restricted his pace and prevented him to qualify for the last round to get a better position for the final race.
It was only a marginal difference, as the German lost a position in Q3 by as by 0.141s. Still, Vettel seeks for a better day on Sunday, only if Ferrari comes with a cunning strategy and a lucky day.

“It was very tough and tight,” Vettel said. “I think Sector 2 wasn’t ideal, I was too close to George [Russell], maybe that didn’t help, and I was struggling after the stop and go in the final sector to get the fronts really to work.
“Maybe there was a little bit more [time], so Sector 2 was for sure not super clean. Overall I think it’s more or less where we belong this weekend.
“Tomorrow is the race, and in the race, it’s not about one lap, so we’ll see what we can do,” he said.
Tyre management can be a key for the race
On both days, it was observed that the track is rougher than the usual, and the issue of tyre management was observed on both days, which was also pointed out by Vettel.
“This track is very rough, very tough on tyres, and that will be the key tomorrow to manage those,” Vettel said. “I think if we are sly as a fox, we have a good chance. If not, then it will be a long race. I still believe that there is a good chance to score some points.”
