‘Wanted you to see this, Dame’: CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard poke fun at ESPN for ruling Portland out of the playoffs again
CJ McCollum took to Twitter to let Dame and his followers know he disagrees with ESPN leaving the Trailblazers out of the top 8 in the West.
The Portland Trailblazers have had seasons of varying success ever since Damian Lillard showed up in 2012. One thing the Blazers have been consistent with however, is their ability to make the Playoffs.
They haven’t missed the Playoffs since the 2012-13 NBA season. Whether it’s a first round exit or a trip to the Western Conference Finals, Damian Lillard always gives it his all to will the Trailblazers into the postseason.
The Blazers had an especially positive 2020 offseason as they added pieces to their roster that were a necessity. Players such as Derrick Jones Jr. and Robert Covington add great wing defense, while also stretching the floor.
ESPN says Portland won’t make the Playoffs and CJ McCollum can’t believe it.
Along with signing new guys, the Blazers re-signed their pivotal pieces as well. Rodney Hood and Carmelo Anthony are both back to help alleviate some of the offensive burden off of Damian Lillard.
However, with everything the Blazers have done this offseason, ESPN doesn’t believe they have what it takes to make the postseason.
ESPN’s Kevin Pelton applied RPM(real plus-minus) to all teams in the NBA and it revealed that the Suns will make the Playoffs over the Blazers.
This led to CJ McCollum tweeting about it and sarcastically saying, “Just wanted to make sure you seen this Dame.”

The official Portland TrailBlazers account even replied to the tweet saying, “Oh we saw.”
Will the Portland TrailBlazers make the Playoffs this year?
It is highly unlikely the Blazers miss the Playoffs this upcoming season. With depth at every position, they can play an inordinate amount of different lineups that can be solid on defense, and lethal on offense.
With Damian Lillard in his prime, it would be an unwise decision to bet against him making the playoffs again.
