Prithvi Shaw catch vs Australia A: Watch Shaw’s stunner sends back Tim Paine at Drummoyne Oval
Prithvi Shaw catch vs Australia A: The Indian opener grabbed an absolute stunner to send back the veteran Australian wicket-keeper batsman.
During the first warm-up match of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia between India A and Australia A at the Drummoyne Oval, India A opening batsman Prithvi Shaw put forward an incredible fielding effort which saw him sending back veteran Australia A wicket-keeper batsman Tim Paine.
It all happened on the last delivery of the 59th over when Paine pulled an Umesh Yadav delivery without much timing on the ball. Shaw, who was fielding at backward square leg, fancied his chances of grabbing a stunner by successful jumping in the air and catching the ball with one hand.
Yadav, who had dismissed Australia A’s opening batsmen in Will Pucovski (1) and Joe Burns (4) in his first spell, got his third wicket in the form of Paine. With the right-hand batsman scoring 44 (88) in a fruitful 104-run partnership for the fifth wicket alongside all-rounder Cameron Green, it was crucial to dismiss either of them.
While spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and pacer Mohammed Siraj picked a couple of wickets for India A, Yadav has been the pick of them as of now with bowling figures of 16-3-42-3.
After India A captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bat yesterday, the visitors had declared on 247/9 after Rahane top-scored with 117 (242) including 18 fours and a six. Other than Rahane, batsman Cheteshwar Pujara had also contributed with a half-century.
