Why is Moises Henriques not playing today’s BBL 2020-21 match vs Hobart Hurricanes?
Moises Henriques not playing: The captain of Sydney Sixers isn’t part of their Playing XI for BBL 2020-21 season opener.
During the first match of the ongoing 10th season of the Big Bash League between Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Sixers in Hobart, Sydney Sixers have won the bat flip and have decided to field first.
Daniel Hughes, who has scored 1,279 runs in 50 innings for Sixers at an average and strike rate of 30.45 and 121 respectively, walked out for the bat flip instead of regular captain Moises Henriques to hand a massive shock to Sixers’ fans.

Why is Moises Henriques not playing today’s BBL 2020-21 match vs Hobart Hurricanes?
As far as Henriques is concerned, the 33-year old player has suffered a low-grade left hamstring strain and has been subsequently ruled out of the second warm-up match against India A and the first two matches of BBL 2020-21.
Having made an international comeback after more than two years across both white-ball formats, Henriques was highly crucial to Sixers’ Big Bash plans. It will be interesting to see how Sixers defend their title in Henriques’ absence in the firs two matches.
