“It’s their job to win me the championship, if they don’t, they f***ed up”: Danny Green sends a hilarious warning to the 76ers

Danny Green spoke about winning back-to-back championships and how it’s the Sixers’ job help him win a third straight title.

The Philadelphia 76ers made some sensible moves this past offseason. Getting off of Al Horford’s contract while also acquiring sharpshooting guards Seth Curry and Danny Green was a series of great moves by GM Daryl Morey.

Danny Green is coming off a 2 year stretch where he claimed the championship in both of those years. Back in 2019, he helped the Toronto Raptors clinch their first ever NBA title.

More famously, Green also won the 2020 ‘Bubble’ title with the Los Angeles Lakers, alongside LeBron James. Green had quite nearly become a household name during the 2020 NBA Playoffs due to his missed game winner in Game 5 of the Finals.

Now he seeks to win his 3^rd straight with the 76ers.

In his media availability during training camp, Green was asked, “What does it mean when a franchise wants you because you fit in well with superstars and know how to win championships?”

Green said, “It’s amazing to be wanted, so I’m happy to be here. Hopefully I live up totheir expectations but pressure is on them as well. I won back-to-back, it’s their job to win me another one.”

This was obviously a light-hearted joke shared between the reported and Green; similar to when JJ Redick said it’s up to Zion to take him to the Playoffs for a 14^th straight time.
