Alex Carey catch: The captain of Adelaide Strikers continued to lead from the front on the field after a stupendous innings.

During the 21st match of the ongoing 13th season of the Big Bash League between Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers in Adelaide, Adelaide Strikers captain Alex Carey continue to leave an impact on the match on the back of a outstanding diving catch to dismiss Perth Scorchers opening batsman Liam Livingstone.

It all happened on the fourth delivery of the eighth over when Livingstone’s attempt to guide a Wes Agar delivery towards third-man saw him edging the ball behind the wickets to Carey.

Agar, who had dismissed Jason Roy (49) in the same over, put extra effort to get a delivery to bounce more than expected as the same was enough to beat Livingstone outside the off-stump. Looking out-of-touch from the word go, Livingstone departed after scoring 8 (13).

Carey, who dived to his right to put on display an inspiring fielding effort, continued to contribute at the Adelaide Oval.

It is worth mentioning that Carey had earlier scored a stupendous eighth BBL half-century after Scorchers captain Ashton Turner won the toss and asked the hosts to bat first. On the back of Carey scoring 82 (59) with the help of 12 fours and a six, Strikers put on board 146/9 in 20 overs amidst lack of support from other batsmen.

Scorchers fast bowler Jhye Richardson, who had opened the bowling for his team, was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-0-19-3. Richardson was well-assisted by Aaron Hardie who picked figures of 4-0-21-2.
