‘Celtics locker room in turmoil’: Marcus Smart gets his aged whiskey stolen and replaced by karaoke set during team’s Secret Santa
The Boston Celtics indulged in Secret Santa and Marcus Smart was upset he ended up with a gift he didn’t really want.
With Christmas and New Year’s in the bag, many stories related to holiday shenanigans may be getting revealed to the media by NBA players as the days go by.
A fun tradition among friends during Christmas is to play the game Secret Santa. The Boston Celtics seem to have used inspiration from this game and played a variation of this where gifts can be stolen from one another.
This variation of the game is called White Elephant. Due to the nature of White Elephant, someone is bound to end up with a gift they do not want and/or, have a gift they do like get stolen from them.
This seems to be exactly what happened to Marcus Smart of the Celtics.
Marcus Smart had a gift he wanted, stolen from him.
The Celtics locker room, along with the coaching staff, had a couple rounds of White Elephant. It is being reported that Marcus Smart started off the game with a 12 year aged bottle of whiskey which he was quite happy about.
However, as the game goes, someone stole this bottle from him. It is unclear who stole the whiskey from Smart, but it is probably wise to be in Smart’s good graces. At the end of White Elephant, Smart got stuck with a karaoke set he didn’t want, and neither did anyone else.
Huge locker room turmoil early in the season: Marcus Smart said he got 12-year aged whiskey in the Secret Santa exchange, but then it got stolen from him and he ended up with a karaoke set.

Marcus Smart is actually known to be quite fond of singing. He showed off his vocals on Slam alongside his teammates Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in 2019.
With Gordon Hayward gone, Marcus Smart will have to pick up on some of the scoring that Hayward would’ve provided. Smart has turned himself into a great shooter from beyond the arc, as he is shooting 42% from 3 in 5 games played.
Though it is a small sample of games, it is good to see his shooting trending upwards. He is averaging 11.6 points, 5.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, in those 5 games
