Arsenal agree a fee to sell Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain to Chelsea

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the Arsenal midfielder who had been subject to great interest by their London neighbours Chelsea, has reportedly signed for the Blues, according to latest reports by Sky news, and the ever-reliable Matt Law.

Arsene Wenger was keen on keeping the youngster at Arsenal, offering him a new contract, but Chamberlain rejected any possibility of signing a new contract, very keen on making the switch to Chelsea FC.

He wasn’t very happy at Arsenal, and wants to continue playing in London only, with Chelsea being the perfect place to play.
There were reports of Liverpool having some interest in him, but those were dismissed as soon as they surfaced.

The fee is reported to be around the 35million mark, and an improved wage bracket that he earned at Arsenal ever since joining from Southampton in 2011.

Conte hopes to make full use of the English international, with 7 matches in a three-week span in September, and more competitions to follow. Conte believes that the winger is a perfect mix of Cesc and Kante, and can be a replacement to Victor Moses.

He is still young, at 24 years, and Conte sure hopes to get him to his fittest and play him as often as possible.

Chamberlain is the first Arsenal player to move to Chelsea after Ashley Cole, way back in 2006.

Movement in the other direction has been more frequent though, as Petr Cech being the last person to make that switch.

Conte is known for the strict fitness regime he has for his players, and at his peak, Chamberain can be terrifying.
