“There’s ‘five star’ and then there’s ‘Lawrence-star’”- Aston Martin bosses self-praise after bagging lucrative tie-up
“There’s ‘five star’ and then there’s ‘Lawrence-star’”- Aston Martin showers praises on himself after grabbing a promising tie-up.
Lawrence Stroll’s real influence has been clearly observed ever since he acquired Racing point from Vijay Mallya and developed his predecessor’s foundation.
Now, he has gone on to rebrand the franchise and partner with Aston Martin to compete in Formula 1, an exciting step, indeed. But now, the business tycoon has extended his team’s financial strength by convincing Cognizant to be the title sponsors.
For Stroll, this deal is his personal achievement, as he claims it is more than a ‘five star’ deal and termed it as ‘Lawrence star’, instilling a narcissistic vibe.
“With this deal today, what we wanted to do in returning Aston Martin to the grid is do everything the way I only do things,” Stroll explained in an interview with select media including RaceFans.
“Which is there’s ‘five star’ and then there’s ‘Lawrence-star’. I want to have relationships and associations with titans of industry, best of class.”
“IT is the future of Formula 1″- Lawrence Stroll.
Lawrence Stroll undoubtedly injected the needed funds into his team, after the crises it faced from Vijay Mallya’s extradition case in the UK against the Indian government. Stroll in the interview further elaborated how this deal will be a differential for his team.
“IT is the future of Formula 1,” said Stroll. “It’s the Internet of Things; it’s cloud computing, it’s digital engineering, it’s data analysis, it’s AI. We’re building a new factory; I want it to be a smart factory, 5G.”
“The most important partner one can have in Formula 1 today to make a true contribution to the team is an IT partner,” he concluded. Stroll has already made a brilliant signing in Sebastian Vettel ahead of 2021. Thus, compelling fans to call them the dark horses of F1.
