“Kevin Durant was like a video game”: Knicks rookie Immanuel Quickley snubs Lakers’ LeBron James while picking Nets star as his greatest opponent ever
Immanuel Quickley says that Kevin Durant is the greatest player he’s ever played against and that the shots he makes reminds him of 2K.
With news breaking out that James Harden is making his way to the Brooklyn Nets, it might’ve been easy to forget that the Nets actually played a game last night. They faced off against the New York Knicks.
The Nets beat the Knicks quite handily, 116-109, with Kevin Durant dropping a light 26 points to go along with 6 assists. He also shot an efficient 10-18 from the field.
It seems as though the Nets didn’t need to be nearly at full strength to beat the Knicks as they were missing key pieces tonight. Kyrie has been missing in action for 5 games now, while Caris LaVert and Jarrett Allen have been traded to the Pacers and Cavs, respectively.
New York Knicks rookie was in awe of Kevin Durant after playing against him
Though it was clear the Knicks wouldn’t be able to pull this one out from the get-go, they did put up a good fight. Most notably, the undrafted rookie out of Kentucky dropped 19 points against the Nets.
Following their loss to the Nets, Immanuel Quickley took to his postgame interview to rave about Kevin Durant after playing him for the first time. He said, “Kevin Durant is the greatest player I’ve ever played against. He shot one shot on me and it was like a video game.”

A lot of the rookies who come into the NBA are in awe of the existing superstars in the league. This is essentially because they grew up watching those superstars dominate the league.
In this case, Quickley grew up watching Kevin Durant during his OKC and Warriors stints. He is, after all, only 21 years old, so back when KD made his first Finals, Quickley was merely 12.
Quickley is yet to face the Lakers so far, so we can imagine him coming up with something to honor LeBron James as well. But for now, Kevin Durant remains his greatest opponent ever.
