Sam Harper collision: Watch Renegades wicket-keeper batsman crashes into Stars pacer at the MCG
Sam Harper collision: The 24-year old player was yet again involved in an on-field collision while sneaking a run in the Big Bash League.
During the 42nd match of the ongoing 10th season of the Big Bash League between Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades in Melbourne, Melbourne Renegades wicket-keeper batsman was yet again involved in an on-field collision while sneaking a run.
It all happened on the fourth delivery of the 17th over when, wanting to make most of the surge overs, Harper unsuccessfully tried to play the ramp shot off Melbourne Stars fast bowler Liam Hatcher.
Having missed the shot, Harper edged the ball on the off-side and immediately set-off for a quick single. With both Harper and Hatcher watching the ball, what resulted was the two players smashing into each other.

Fortunately, there wasn’t any injury reported at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Stars pacer Billy Stanlake, who was fielding at point, had the opportunity to run-out Harper at the non-striker’s end but chose not to throw due to the collision.
It is worth mentioning that it was almost a year ago when Harper had collided with Hobart Hurricanes pacer Nathan Ellis at the Docklands Stadium.
After Renegades captain Aaron Finch (0) won the toss and chose to bat, his team was bundled out for 150 in 19.5 overs. In what was his fifth T20 half-century, Harper top-scored for Renegades with his 63 (52) comprising of three fours and a six. Hatcher, on the other hand, was the pick of Stars’ bowlers with bowling figures of 4-0-29-3.

Glad to see Sam Harper bounce back from that hit with Liam Hatcher, given his history. Good to see Hatcher OK too. Neither player’s fault.

Now that just got a little crazy. But good to see Hatcher and Harper are fine #BBL10
