“Shaq and Chuck have to say absolute nonsense for ratings”: Jazz’s Joe Ingles ridicules Charles Barkley and Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal for comments on Donovan Mitchell
Joe Ingles says that him nor the Utah Jazz care about what Shaquille O’Neal has to say in regards to the Donovan Mitchell or the team.
After a slow start to the season, the Utah Jazz have picked up the pace and been on a roll. They started off with a 4-4 record and it seemed as though Donovan Mitchell and co. would be fighting for a bottom seed out West.
However, they have now won 7 straight following their 4-4 start and are currently tied with the Los Angeles Clippers for the second best record in the league at 11-4.
Donovan Mitchell has been leading this squad through and through. He’s posting career highs of 24.3 points and shooting 40% from beyond the arc. This wasn’t enough for Shaq however. In ‘Spida’s’ postgame interview, he told him that Spida doesn’t have what it takes to get to the next level.
Joe Ingles responds to Shaq’s comments on Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell didn’t back down from Shaq and said: “Alright. I’ve been hearing that my whole career.”
Joe Ingles was asked about this exchange between his teammate and the Lakers legend and it seems as though the Australian native couldn’t care less. He said, “Their ratings must be so bad that they have to say absolute nonsense.”
“We really don’t give a sh-t and what other people think about our team.”

This isn’t the first time Shaq has tried to belittle a Utah Jazz star. He’s been after Rudy Gobert ever since he received a $205 million max contract.
Gobert even responded to Shaq saying there’s no ‘beef’ between the two, yet Shaq continued to pester him. Perhaps it’s time Shaq understood the difference between constructive criticism and plainly hating on players.
