Is Christian Wood playing tonight vs Wizards? Rockets release injury report for star big man ahead of game against Bradley Beal and co
Will Christian Wood suit up for the Rockets tonight against the Washington Wizards after suffering a right ankle sprain last week?
The Houston Rockets are set to face off against the Washington Wizards as they look to carry their momentum from 2 straight wins into their game tonight. They have been missing their star center and MIP front-runner Christian Wood for the last two games as he had suffered an injury in Wednesday’s loss to the Phoenix Suns.
Christian Wood had sprained his right ankle quite hard in the first half of the Suns game and was forced to go back to the locker room. In that time, Wood had already racked up 20 points.

This gave former All-Star Demarcus Cousins a shot at the starting spot and he did not disappoint. Cousins dropped 28 and 17 in Houston’s blowout win over the Mavericks.
Is Christian Wood lining up tonight for the Rockets?
Though the Rockets have won their last two games without Wood, they are clearly better with him on the court. Wood had been ruled out for the previous two games due to the right ankle sprain, along with personal reasons.
With both these reasons, head coach Stephen Silas is quoted as saying last Friday that he’d be “surprised” if Wood made a return anytime soon.
The Rockets have him currently listed as doubtful going into tonight game against Russell Westbrook’s newest squad. This would generally mean that there’s a 25% chance of Wood hitting the floor. This also forces the Rockets to start Demarcus Cousins once again at the 5.
Christian Wood has been balling out with his new team as he’s averaging career highs in points and rebounds. He’s currently sitting on averages of 23.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. He’s the de facto choice for most people in the Most Improved Player race.
