“I dialled it back a bit”- Lando Norris wants people to see him differently
“I dialled it back a bit”- Lando Norris wants to escape from the image of a humorous guy, the McLaren superstar points out his objectives.
Lando Norris is stepping into the 3rd season of his Formula 1 career, so far seen as a person who loves to crack jokes, the McLaren superstar was thriving off the track with his witty personality.
However, Norris wants to bring in some fundamental changes in his personality to transform their perspective and see him as more than a humorous person.
“I dialled it back a bit. You don’t see as many jokes,” Norris said to Autocar. “I’m hoping people will see me a bit differently. I’ve also shifted more time to working with the team.
“Understanding how to improve my driving and the car. Spending time with my engineers to gain that performance,” he added.
I’ve changed claims Lando Norris.
Apart from deciding to work more towards the development of the car and adding focus to his career, Norris has also claimed that he has made some changes as a person.
“I changed a bit, but in a better way to get more performance out of myself,” he said. “I’ve not been as jokey and laughing as normal, the nerd I am. It’s not just to look better. It’s also for my own benefit.”
Meanwhile, his future teammate Daniel Ricciardo has shared the same thoughts, who has made it clear that he is going to McLaren for business and not joining any comedy club.
Therefore, he doesn’t want people to keep expectations about being entertained by the McLaren duo. In contrast, when fans first heard about Norris-Ricciardo partnership, they expected a bit more humour than they witnesses in 2019 and 2020.
Much of the courtesy to the off-track bond Ricciardo and Norris already built in 2020, when it was confirmed that the Australian would be replacing Ferrari bound Carlos Sainz.
