“Where the energy at?”: Dwyane Wade shares his surprised reaction to boos from Bulls crowd during his time in Chicago on Gilbert Arenas’ ‘No Chill’ podcast
Dwyane Wade revealed his thoughts on the Chicago Bulls, citing his own tenure with the team on his recent appearance on Gilbert Arenas’ podcast.
Wade played for the Chicago Bulls for a season (2016-17). The team failed to generate the requisite chemistry for a high seed in the regular season. They looked deadly in the first 2 playoff games against the Celtics, but injury to Rajon Rondo put paid to their postseason hopes.
Gilbert Arenas runs a tight ship with his podcast. Players like Lou Williams, Kevin Durant and now Dwyane Wade have laid their basketball brains bare when they come to his show.
Dwyane Wade on the underwhelming response from Chicago Bulls fans
The 13-time All-Star laid bare his thoughts on the Bulls:
“Like playing for Chicago in Miami, I just felt like the crowd was like crazy.”
“I was like, ‘Man, it’s going to be loud up in there.’ And it was a lot of games where I was I was like, ‘Where the crowd? come on!’. And they booed us a lot too. I look for different energy. But outside of that, I didn’t have many expectations.”
Dwyane Wade said on No Chill with Gilbert Arenas Podcast that he didn’t even plan on signing with the Chicago Bulls and it was a last-minute thing.
Wade also said that there wasn’t a lot of energy from Bulls fans during games and didn’t understand why Bulls fans booed the team.

Wade also revealed that his single-season sojourn with the Bulls was not well thought-through:
“I didn’t even plan to go to Chicago and they didn’t plan to have me. It was just something that kind of got thrown together at the last minute.”
As a Chicago boy, D-Wade grew up admiring the dynasty Bulls of the 90s. He has fond memories of the time, but says that his personal experience as a player for the team was different:
“Only thing I would think about Chicago was the Bulls. All I remember is Jordan and Scottie and how amazing it was to play there and then play there as an opponent and how dope it was to go to United Center.”
“On the other side, I was like, ‘Where the energy at? Why are you all booing as? This ain’t what I experienced.”
