“We spent more time together” – Romain Grosjean reveals his favorite teammate between Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso, and if Mercedes will give him a proper send-off.
Romain Grosjean had a premature end to his F1 career after a horror crash at Sakhir last season. The Frenchman, who has been in F1 since 2009, was promised a proper send-off by Mercedes. Speaking on his Twitch account, Grosjean has revealed that is indeed happening this season.
“Yes, yes he has. I’ve had a phone call with them and we are finalizing the plan. I think it’s going to be mega.”

This season, both he and Kevin Magnussen have been replaced by rookies Mike Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin. But when asked who he expected to be the star rookie driver this season, he went for the AlphaTauri recruit.
“2021 rookie of the year will definitely be Yuki Tsunoda. To me he is very talented, a very cool guy, so I see good things for him in Formula 1.”
Romain Grosjean chooses favorite teammate between Raikkonen and Alonso
Grosjean had two former champions Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso as his teammates, in Lotus and Renault respectively. When asked to choose the better teammate, Grosjean went for the safe bet.
“I would say Kimi, just because I spent more time with Kimi, we spent more time together. But Alonso was mega and I am really looking forward to seeing what he is going to do.”
He also revealed his prediction for the title win this season, and it was absolutely no surprise.
“Lewis Hamilton 2021 World Champion, that would be my prediction.”
