WATCH: Gareth Bale scores a beautiful volley to give Real Madrid the lead against Borussia Dortmund

Real Madrid haven’t had the best start to the season, as they have faltered in the La Liga on various occassions and now find themselves 7 points off the top so early in this season.

But in the Champions League. Real Madrid leave no stone unturned. They bring their killer instinct to the fore and finish off teams way before they can find their feet in the match.

However, Dortmund have always Madrid’s bogie team, and thus Zidane needed one of his front 3 to step in and get that early lead. And Bale did exactly that.

A Sergio Ramos hand-ball incident marred Dortmund’s chance of taking the lead early on, and Madrid immediately marched forward, with Carvajal putting a delicious ball into the box and Bale meeting it sweetly with his left foot and depositing the ball into the top left hand corner.

Thanks to this Gareth Bale special, Real Madrid go into the second half a goal up at the Signal Iduna park, and would be hoping to double their lead and go back to Madrid with 3 valuable points in the group of death.
