Cassius Stanley hilariously reacts to his first dunk going underrated: ‘Kind of cool that I’ll be on the list of people robbed for a 50’

Cassius Stanley is among those people who believe that his first dunk at the Dunk Contest went underrated, and he let us know about it.

The Dunk Contest usually is the showstopper contest on the second day of the All-Star weekend. Some of the league’s bounciest players go against each other at the thrilling Dunk Contest.

Well, due to the deadly pandemic, we didn’t get to see a normal All-Star weekend. Although, we were fortunate enough to witness a dunk contest this year. This year’s dunk contest saw a few young athletic players who competed against each other.

Indiana Pacers’ Rookie Cassius Stanley was one of the three participants for the halftime contest. The guard who had an insane 44 inch vertical at the NBA combine, was among the favorite to win the event.

Stanley believes that he joins a long list of dunkers who were ‘robbed’ for their perfect score. Every dunk contest has a few people with contrasting opinions over dunks. This year too, Cassius Stanley believed that he got ‘robbed’ of a perfect 50 score for his very first dunk. Stanley stated how everyone was shocked to see only a 44 score on the board after his dunk. Cassius revealed:

“Pretty much everyone around me thought I got a 50. Even someone who I looked up to, Zach LaVine, came out and was like ‘You got a 44 on that?’ I get to be on the list of people who might’ve gotten robbed for a 50, so that’s a cool thing I guess.”

‘I would definitely participate in the dunk contest again’: Cassius Stanley

Usually, after the dunker doesn’t agree with the judge’s decision, they end up never participating in the event. We saw last year when Orlando’s Aaron Gordon thought he was robbed off at the dunk contest, he swore never to participate in the event again.

Cassius Stanley stated how despite the difference in opinions with the judges, he would like to participate in the event again:

“Yeah, I want to do it again. I’d do it next year.”

Stanley said his Final Round dunk included an assist from teammate Domas Sabonis.

As for whether he’d do it again: “Yeah, I want to do it again. I’d do it next year.”

What was an underwhelming dunk contest, was won by Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons. He managed to steal the show with his rim-kissing dunk, becoming the first Trail Blazer ever to win the contest.
