‘Michael Jordan will compete against you for drinking water’: Hollywood star Will Smith opens up about the Bulls legend’s competitiveness

Will Smith narrated a hilarious incident about Michael Jordan competing with him at drinking water, of all things possible.

Earlier last year, the documentary ‘The Last Dance’ was released. The 10-episode show documented the Jordan-era Chicago Bulls. It showed us just how competitive MJ was. It is easy to say that the Hall-Of-Famer didn’t like to lose to anyone. For him, his only competition was himself.

There have been many anecdotes portraying Jordan’s competitive spirit. Whether it was his mentality on the basketball court against other Hall-Of-Famer or whether it was any other petty thing off the court.

Hollywood superstar Will Smith narrated yet another fascinating tale about MJ and his competitiveness. On the show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, back in 2017, Smith narrated:

“We’ve hung out a few times. (Hanging out with him) it’s like a competition. Mike and Tiger [Woods] are the two most competitive people I’ve ever met on Earth.”

“I love being around people with that kind of competitive energy, but Mike will compete with anything, though. If we’re drinking water, Mike will be like, ‘I’ll race you.’ ‘We can just drink our water, Mike. We don’t have to race.’”

Michael Jordan has one of the most illustrious and stacked resumes in the league. MJ is a 6-time NBA champion, 6-time Finals MVP, 5-time MVP, 14-time All-Star and also currently owns the Charlotte Hornets organisation.

As Will Smith rightly said, you just can’t beat the great Michael Jordan. Will added to talk about Mike and said:

“You can’t beat Mike in anything. If he can’t beat you, he’s not going to play. I considered myself competitive until I spent time with them. But it’s another level, another command of their minds. You see why they win – because of that kind of mindset.”
