Virat Kohli angry: RCB captain fumes after getting out vs SRH; smashes chair in dugout
Virat Kohli angry: The captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore was fuming after his dismissal at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
During the sixth match of the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was wrathful after getting out.
It all happened on the first delivery of the 13th over when Kohli attempted a pull against Jason Holder delivery but the lack of pace resulted in him mis-timing the ball towards fine leg.
Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Vijay Shankar, who ran in from fine leg, grabbed a wonderful catch to send back the opposition captain. Having opened the batting with Devdutt Padikkal (11), Kohli departed after scoring 33 (29) with the help of four fours.
It was on his way back to the dressing room that Kohli was witnessed fuming at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Having first hit the boundary rope, the 32-year old player then smashed a chair in the dugout.
After Sunrisers captain David Warner won the toss and chose to bowl, RCB posted 149/8 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Other than Kohli, Royal Challengers all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was a significant contributor as he scored an IPL half-century after half-a-decade.
Having scored 59 (41) with the help of five fours and three sixes, Maxwell top-scored for RCB tonight. With bowling figures of 4-0-30-3, Holder was the pick of Sunrisers’ bowlers. The West Indian all-rounder was well-supported by Rashid Khan, who picked figures of 4-0-18-2.
