Man of the Match today: The all-rounder from Mumbai Indians was awarded the Man of the Match award at the MA Chidambaram tonight.
During the ninth match of the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai, Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs to register their second victory this season.
Chasing a 151-run target, Sunrisers were bundled out for 137 in 19.4 overs. Despite a brisk 67-run opening partnership between captain David Warner (36) and wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow (43), the rest of the Hyderabadi batsmen continued with their trend of struggling in their middle-order.

Apart from this being their third consecutive loss, it coming in a similar fashion of them chasing at the MA Chidambaram Stadium speaks a lot about how their batsmen have fared so far this season.
Man of the Match today MI vs SRH
Man of the Match in their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai spinner Rahul Chahar was the pick of their bowlers with figures of 4-0-19-3. Apart from Chahar, fast bowler Trent Boult also picked three wicket tonight.
After Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat, his team scored a below par 150-5 despite a 55-run opening stand between Quinton de Kock (40) and Sharma (32).
He might not have been their top-scorer but Indians vice-captain Kieron Pollard was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’ for scoring 35* (22) with the help of a four and three sixes in the business end of the first innings. Having hit two sixes on the last two deliveries of the match, Pollard had given his bowlers an additional cushion.
Apart from taking a catch to dismiss Manish Pandey (2), Pollard also bowled a couple of economical overs giving away just 10 runs in a low-scoring match.
“I think the situation dictates who comes first [between himself and the Pandya brothers], we are all padded up and whenever we’re called on, we’re ready. There’s no secret. We have to find a way and again in the back end getting those extra runs helped us. it’s very difficult to adjust on this pitch when you only have a couple of balls, but that’s what we train for.
“It’s good when you scrap the victories, it gives you confidence. When it’s coming out nicely you want to bowl another one, but what the team needs at the moment is you need the main bowlers. Just happy to do my job there,” Pollard told Star Sports during the post-match presentation ceremony.
