 “We have got a long term commitment”– Haas promises that it has secure finances and will keep competing in Formula 1 in future.

At the end of 2020, Haas was massively hit by the pandemic’s financial losses and threatened their existence in Formula 1 from 2021 onwards.

However, Guenther Steiner risked removing his two experienced drivers- Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean, only to be replaced by two rookies Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher, which apparently gave them a massive financial rescue.

Now, Steiner claims that Haas is financially stable and will be committing to F1 for the long term, and they aim to have a successful campaign in 2022.

“I think I can say the team is secure, and we are fine”, Steiner said In The FastLane. “We have got a long term commitment from Gene Haas to Formula 1.

“Our finances are good, and we found ways to cross that bridge, so we are delighted with that. For 2022, we have been developing since the beginning of February. The guys are working all the time to get a good car.

“I don’t know where we end up but I’m convinced that we will be in a good position again.”

It was tough to be in 2020

Haas said that they persevered through 2020, then surely they can survive anything now, with the situation being more stable and more races bringing in extra revenue.

“We’re making good steps forward in the wind tunnel. Last year we were in a crisis more than. A lot of people were furloughed, and we will build up that complete engineering team again.

“People are joining us from Ferrari, and that gives you confidence because otherwise, how can you be confident if you’re like last year? “We did a lot of changes.”

“We started to rebuild the team in December and got going again in January so that is where my confidence comes from.”
