“Russell Westbrook will finish over this MVP”: Kendrick Perkins controversially places Wizards star over Sixers legend all-time
Kendrick Perkins says he would take Russell Westbrook’s career over the one of this iconic Philadelphia 76ers legend.
Russell Westbrook is downright incredible as a player. Quite often we as NBA fans can get too wrapped up in his flaws and the things he can’t do or hasn’t done yet. But the truth is, the man is a walking, talking, and often stank face making bucket.
The 32-year-old is once again averaging a triple-double for the season. But more importantly, he is now carrying the Wizards to wins as well. The franchise has stunningly won 9 of its last 10 games, with the only loss being a very close one to the Spurs.
Russ’s talent and greatness is absolutely undeniable. And in recognition of that fact, ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins made a fairly hot take recently, which could prove incredibly divisive within the NBA community.

“Russell Westbrook will go down as the better player all time, yeah I said it!”: Kendrick Perkins
Kendrick Perkins is one of the more entertaining analysts on television today. The former player has made a living off humorous yet attention-grabbing statements on sports today. And recently, he did it yet again. Take a listen.
All due respect to the legend & Icon Allen Iverson, but the BRODIE Russell Westbrook will go down as the better player all time, yeah I said it!! Gather round for Masterperk Theater on @sportsnation and carry the hell on!! pic.twitter.com/t1yIu4Pyi6

Yep, he went there.
To be fair to Big Perk, there is very much a case for Russell Westbrook to be a better player than Iverson. The Brodie has had more than just a few historic occasions while carrying his team to victory over the years.
However, perhaps he isn’t quite there just yet. After all, in his prime, AI took an injury-riddled 76ers side all the way to the NBA finals, to face off against the iconic Shaq and Kobe Lakers side.
Overall though, only time will tell if Russell Westbrook can clearly transcend the career of Allen Iverson. As of now though, we wouldn’t say it’s happened quite yet.
