Warriors legend Stephen Curry admits to being proud of Jordan Poole for attempting and knocking down an insane half-court shot.

Stephen Curry is unarguably the greatest shooter of all time. For over 13 years, the Warriors sharpshooter has been mesmerising us with his jaw-dropping long-distance shots.

It is because of him that young players today have expanded their range. With the way he uses the three-point line, Steph has completely revolutionised his modern basketball is played.

The Warriors legend has knocked down innumerable shots from virtually any spot on the hardwood. We have seen the two-time MVP casually pull up from half-court and knocking it down with utmost consistency.

On Monday night too, we got to witness an incredible half-court shot. However, it wasn’t the wizardry of Curry who knocked down the shot for a change. It was second-year shooting guard Jordan Poole who hit a huge 50-foot buzzer-beater over Utah Jazz forward Georges Niang to end the third quarter.

Stephen Curry reveals why Jordan Poole shot impressed him

Coincidentally, Curry and Poole were practising half-court shots before the match. The 7-time All-Star has revealed how the 21-year-old caught fire, knocking down four tough shots.

In today’s league, players quite often give up such shots, keeping their field goal percentage in mind. What impressed Chef Curry about Poole’s shot was the fact that Jordan didn’t worry about his field goal percentage while attempting an improbable shot. Steph spoke about the 6-foot-4 guard’s shot:

“I’m proud he actually shot it, cause a lot of guys in the league nowadays worry about field goal percentage and all that stuff and they don’t even take the heaves. That’s one of my pet peeves. So I’m glad he took it.”

This shot from the former Michigan star made a huge impact on the game as the Warriors recorded a close 119-116 win over the red hot Utah Jazz. Clearly, Stephen Curry has been sharing a few of his tips to everyone in the GSW locker room.

Grabbing this huge win, the Warriors has secured themselves a play-in spot. With a .522 36-33 record, the 8th seed Golden State is projected to play LeBron and his Lakers in their play-in battle.
