“Shaq, you can’t sneak in on live TV at 7’2″!!”: Ernie Johnson and Inside the NBA crew roast Shaquille O’Neal for arriving late on TNT set

Shaq messed up yesterday, arriving late to the Inside the NBA sets for the play in games. Ernie Johnson made sure that everybody noticed this.

The first 2 Eastern Conference play in games were letdowns, to say the least. Charlotte and Washington rolled over with blowout losses at the hands of their opponents. The Celtics have booked their playoff series with the Brooklyn Nets and Kyrie Irving.

Yesterday’s first game was between Indiana and Charlotte. It was set to begin at 6:30 PM ET, so naturally pre-game coverage for the games would begin an hour or so before, and reporting time for Shaq at the sets would accordingly be even earlier.

Shaq lost track of this apparently, as he explained after his late arrival. That wasn’t something Ernie wanted to listen to, however, as the 64-year-old turned instantly on Shaq.

The trio of Ernie, Kenny and Chuck instantly united to berate Shaq, saying “You can’t sneak in at 7’2”!”

Shaq made no bones of why he arrived late, noting that he’d misremembered the timetable sent to him: “I thought I was supposed to be here at 6:30, but it’s the game at 6:30.”

Shaq and Chuck both got 1 prediction right each about the Eastern Conference play in games

Shaq got it right when he picked Indiana to beat the Charlotte Hornets, but this contrarian POV of his was exposed in the second game of the day. Shaq and Kenny ended up picking the Wizards, who got blown off the court by Boston through Jayson Tatum’s heroics.

Chuck, meanwhile, didn’t hesitate before giving the Charlotte Hornets his approval and go-ahead. But he was left with an egg on his face as early as the first quarter. It was apparent that they were not in business to take the 20-point halftime lead back from Indiana.

He made up for this by taking betting favorites Boston in the second game of the day. It wasn’t clear how sincere he was with his pick since he had that mischievous smile on his face. But you still have to give it to him for getting the second one right.
