“I hope we get The Demon versus The Fiend” – Finn Balor hopes to revive rivalry with Bray Wyatt
Finn Balor hopes to revive rivalry with Bray Wyatt. The two fought each other back at SummerSlam 2019, after which Balor moved to NXT.
Finn Balor has faced Bray Wyatt several times before. However, SummerSlam 2019 was the first time he met the Fiend. It was also the Fiend’s in ring debut and what a dominant start it was. Balor put the Fiend over like a monster and he now wants his revenge.

Since that match, the Fiend climbed up the totem pole on the main roster, even becoming a two time Universal Champion. Balor, on the other hand, moved back to NXT where he became the NXT Champion once again before losing it to Karrion Kross at Stand and Deliver.

Speaking on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character podcast, Balor discussed his match with Wyatt at SummerSlam 2019. He called the Fiend ‘one of the coolest things in wrestling’ and said that he needed to lose in the manner he did for the character to have a strong start. He also spoke made it known that he was hoping to face Wyatt in the ring once again.
“I thought it was great. I feel like it’s what it needed to be. It was the debut of The Fiend and he needed to be strong. I feel like that character is evolving, I think it’s one of the coolest things in wrestling. I hope it has a lot more years to come, I hope we get to go back to The Prince versus The Fiend, I hope we get to go back to The Demon versus The Fiend. And I love it [The Fiend].”
The two also fought each other at SummerSlam 2017. Balor came out victorious that night as the Demon. Surely, the WWE has to book a rematch with the Demon and the Fiend taking to the ring right? Both these characters have been very well protected by the WWE so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
