“Tomorrow night is the biggest game of LeBron James’s career”: Skip Bayless claims Lakers MVP is under immense pressure in Game 5 against Chris Paul and the Suns

Skip Bayless believes that the Lakers-Suns Game 5 tomorrow night is the most important game of LeBron James’s career in AD’s absence. 

The Los Angeles Lakers have not been a model title defending team this season, to say the least. They have dealt with a bevy of injuries to their superstars such as LeBron James and his ankle soreness and Anthony Davis being out due to an aggravated Achilles tendon. The injury bug seems to have latched onto the purple and gold unfortunately, as the latter is down with injury once again. 

Game 4 of Lakers-Suns saw Anthony Davis suffer a groin strain that ruled him out for the remainder of the bout. This led to LeBron James and the Lakers faltering against a Suns team that seems to have 2021 regular season Chris Paul back as they lost, 100-92, effectively tying the series at 2 a piece.

Davis’s status at the moment has been listed as day-to-day but it’s quite obvious that he will not suit up for Game 5 as these types of injuries take anywhere between a week to 3 weeks to fully heal. 

Skip Bayless says this Game 5 is the most important of LeBron James’s career. 

With the possibility of the Los Angeles Lakers trailing 2-3 in this first round matchup against the Suns, Skip Bayless takes to Twitter to make a bold claim surrounding the 4x champion that says tomorrow night’s game without AD will be the most important NBA game of his career.

This certainly is not true as a game in the first round of the Playoffs that isn’t an elimination game cannot top any game that LeBron James has been a part of in the NBA Finals. Any game in the Finals is by default more important than any other prior game and the fact that James has been to 10 NBA Finals and 2 Game 7s goes to show that those were much more important than tomorrow’s game. 

James’s previous games in the Playoffs such as Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals, Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals, Game 6 of the 2020 NBA Finals, and so on, all carried much more weightage in a historical sense than a non-elimination game against the Phoenix Suns
