“I’ve been at the airport five-and-a-half hours now”– Valtteri Bottas is stuck at an airport in Finland because of travel disruption.

Valtteri Bottas is stuck in Finland, even though he was obligated to remain in Azerbaijan. Still, various sources report that a travel disruption in his home country has delayed his travel.

The Finnish driver has revealed that he has been waiting at the airport for more than five hours. This unprecedented delay has propelled Formula 1 to organize his Thursday press conference from there only.

“I’ve been at the airport five-and-a-half hours now,” he says in his press conference via Zoom, but is due to arrive later today,” said Bottas, according to the Autosport.

Valtteri Bottas and misfortune

In the span of two weeks, Bottas has faced two misfortunes and signals that it is certainly not Bottas’ time. First, during the Monaco Grand Prix, he was forced to leave the race in the middle due to a pit stop issue, which took following 43 hours to resolve.

The Finnish is stuck at his home while the rest of the F1 contingent is already there and preparing for the Grand Prix weekend. Nevertheless, the internet didn’t let this moment go by and pointed out this ill-fate of Bottas.

Some even linked the uncanny resemblance of his poor pit-stop and flight delay, with many making memes regarding Toto Wolff deliberately planting trouble in his flight’s “Pirelli tyres”.
