“A healthy LeBron James is the best player in the league”: Pacers legend Reggie Miller gives huge props to the Lakers superstar
Former Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller states that there is no other player better in the league than a healthy LeBron James.
LeBron James is considered to be one of the greatest basketball players ever. The kid from Akron is among the most accomplished players and has an illustrious resume. For 18-years now, LBJ has been putting on a show every night he takes the floor. His unique gameplay, versatility and endurance are unparalleled, due to which is compared to Michael Jordan for the GOAT debate.
Last year, Bron won his 4th championship while leading his Los Angeles Lakers team in the Orlando Bubble. After clinching their 17th title, behind the leadership of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, analysts and fans had the LA Lakers winning the 2021 NBA too.
However, this season has been nothing that the Lakers franchise expected it to be. Despite having acquired a few pivotal players to join forces with AD and LBJ, the reigning champions got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs, losing to Chris Paul and his Suns.

“A healthy LeBron is the best player in the league”: Reggie Miller
Of course, the team was riddled with injures, which had a major effect on their standings. With the All-Star duo of Bron and Davis being injured for 27 and 36 games, respectively, the team just didn’t look as deadly as when they started the 2020-2021 season.
Before an injury sidelined James, even in his 18th season, the King was playing some of his best basketball. He was looking like the dominant self he usually is and leading his team to victories. The 17-time All-Star was even in MVP conversations before his ankle injury.
Reggie Miller, for one, believes that the 4-time MVP, when healthy, is easily the best player in the league. On his appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show”, the former Pacers legend explained:
“I will always go with a healthy LeBron James as the best player. Just for the simple fact that he does everything. (…) Healthy, I mean – before he went down with an injury he was in the discussion for the MVP. He was one of the top-3 candidates before the ankle injury. I mean, he’s gonna give you 25, 8, and 8 (…) he lifts up his teammates.”
Surely, LAL’s narrative would have been different if LeBron James wasn’t injured. Maybe the Lakers would’ve still been in contention to win their championship and Bron his 5th MVP.
