“Mercedes or a Red Bull I wouldn’t say no”– Kevin Magnussen puts one condition to his return to Formula 1 after his exit in 2020.

Kevin Magnussen had a seven-year-long spell in Formula 1 before moving out to World Endurance Championship and WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The Danish race driver claims that he is happy at his current space but will only consider a return to F1 if it’s Mercedes or Red Bull, which according to him, will not happen.

“If I had a Mercedes or a Red Bull I wouldn’t say no. I don’t think many racing drivers would, but that’s not going to happen. As I said before, I’m very, very happy with the opportunity that I had in Formula 1. Not many people get to have that many years in Formula 1.”

I’m super happy about that, and I had some great experiences. Having said that, I feel fresh motivation, and I feel like it’s fun again,” he admitted at Autoweek.com.

I feel for Haas

The pandemic brought in a massive financial crunch for Haas and even propelled them to get Nikita Mazepin, whose familial fund sponsored his move to the American team.

This year Haas used no tokens to develop the car, and that has relegated them to the end of the grid, and Magnussen has sympathy for them over their situation.

“I feel for them. They’re great people. I have many friends, and they’re kind of like family to me so, I feel for them,” he concluded. Haas’ principal Gunther Steiner claimed that his team’s focus is on 2022 and have no focus on this year’s competition.

Steiner has also claimed that both drivers Mazepin and Mick Schumacher will not be judged for this year’s failures, while the drivers have also repeatedly remarked about the limitations of their current cars.
