“Hey LeBron James, you weren’t complaining when you won vs an injured Miami Heat in the NBA Finals!” Skip Bayless decimates the Lakers MVP for his double standards on injuries in the Playoffs
Skip Bayless calls out LeBron James for worrying about Playoff injuries when he won his 4th title against an injury riddled Heat team.
In perhaps one of the more ‘exciting’ days of the NBA postseason, LeBron James topped it off with a 5 tweet rant on Twitter about the NBA 2020-21 season starting less than 2 months after the Bubble ended. This rant was happened after news broke out about Kawhi Leonard potentially tearing his ACL and being listing as ‘out indefinitely.’
These 2021 Playoffs have brought about a dark stain on the NBA as this is the first time in league history that 8+ All-Stars missed games due to injury.
This list includes the likes of Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Mike Conley, Jaylen Brown, and so. Even LeBron James, though he did not miss any of the 6 games against the Suns, was clearly hobbled from his infamous right ankle sprain.
Whether or not the short offseason, as the Laker superstar claimed, is solely responsible for this slew of injuries is a whole other discussion. Skip Bayless took to Twitter to look at James’s tweets from a completely different angle.
Skip Bayless goes off on LeBron James for his double standards on injuries in the Playoffs.
Despite the fact that LeBron James has been lauded for speaking out against the NBA’s decision to resume play as quickly as they did, leave it to Skip Bayless to find some fault in what the ‘King’ had to say.
Hey, LeBron: Didn’t hear you complaining about injuries last year when you got to play 5th seed Miami in the Bubble Finals WITHOUT ITS LEADING PLAYOFF SCORER DRAGIC AND ITS HEART-AND-SOUL BAM.

Though what Bayless said does make sense, in that, LeBron was not complaining about the lack of competition in the NBA Finals when the Heat lost Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic to injury, it does not make sense in this context.
The injuries to the Heat in the 2020 Finals had nothing to do with a shortened offseason and that is what James is arguing about when in regards to this season.
To Bayless’s credit, what LeBron James said in his Twitter rant yesterday is not ground-breaking news. Fans and the media alike have brought forth this argument throughout the entirety of this 2020-21 season.
