Ishant Sharma Injury Update: The Indian fast bowler has received multiple stitches on his right hand after getting hit during WTC Final 2021.
India fast bowler Ishant Sharma has received multiple stitches on his right hand after getting hit by a Ross Taylor shot during the final match of the recently concluded ICC World Test Championship.
It all had happened on the second delivery of the 45th over, which was eventually the second last over of the day, when Sharma’s attempt of stopping a well-timed drive from Taylor resulted in him getting hurt and leaving the ground immediately.

On his fourth Test tour of England, Sharma had picked bowling figures of 31.2-11-69-3 in the iconic final at the Ageas Bowl earlier this week.
Ishant Sharma Injury Update
Sharma, who will remain in England alongside the Test squad for a five-match Test series scheduled to be played in August-September, is expected to be fit in time for the Test series given the number of days left for it to start.
“Ishant [Sharma] has had multiple stitches on his middle and fourth finger in his right hand. However, it is not very serious. The stitches will be off in around ten days and with six weeks left for the first Test against England, he is expected to recover in time,” a BCCI official close to the development was quoted as saying by PTI.

In 13 Tests matches in England, Sharma has picked 46 wickets at an average of 33.19, an economy rate of 3.24 and a strike rate of 61.4 including a couple of five-wicket hauls. The senior-most member of the Indian pace attack, India would want for the 32-year old player to play a substantial role in the upcoming Test series.
