“Feels like Scottie Pippen is having a mid-life crisis”: Dan Patrick and Reggie Miller are taken aback by Michael Jordan’s co-star calling Phil Jackson racist
Dan Patrick is unsure of whether or not Scottie Pippen is having a mid-life crisis after taking shots at Durant and calling Jackson racist.
Scottie Pippen has catapulted himself onto the front page of most NBA centric tabloids these past few days after ‘going berserk’ and taking shots at a bevy of individuals in the realm of basketball. It started off with a heated back-and-forth with Kevin Durant which somehow got Stephen A. Smith wrapped up into the social media debacle.
Following this, Pippen would go on the Dan Patrick Show and claim Phil Jackson choosing a rookie Toni Kukoc to take the last shot in a crucial Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semis over him, had a racial element mixed in with it all. “Why would Toni, who was a rookie, get the last second shot and you put me out of bounds? That what I mean by ‘racial’,” said Pippen.
Scottie Pippen would later double down and say he has no problem with calling the 11x champion as a coach, racist. Dan Patrick discussed these comments of his, with Reggie Miller on the latest edition of his show.
Dan Patrick and Reggie Miller discuss on whether or not Scottie Pippen is having a mid-life crisis.
The former Indiana Pacers legend, who has duked it out with Scottie Pippen and the Bulls on several occasions in the 90s, recently took to the Dan Patrick Show. It’s here, where Reggie Miller and Patrick broke down whether or not the 6x champion was experiencing a mid-life crisis.
“It’s not a mid-life crisis, because I don’t know Scottie Pippen; but, it feels like that with the reaction to the documentary,” said Patrick. “He says what he says about the last shot; he says what he says about Durant and ‘Durant’s not LeBron’.”
In response, Reggie Miller said, “I don’t think it’s a mid-life crisis. I think he just wants people to remember, he was the second part of a duo, one of the greatest duos this game has ever seen. Historians like yourself, like myself, we know. I think the younger generation really doesn’t who Scottie Pippen is and the Last Dance didn’t really help in terms of how they feel about him.”
It’s understandable that Pippen wants to be given credit where credit is due. Those 6 championships in the 90s do not happen if Pippen wasn’t the 1b to Michael Jordan’s 1a. However, it’s also quite obvious that Scottie is coming out with all these controversial takes to drive up sales on his upcoming book, ‘Unguarded’.
