Stephen A. Smith rips LeBron James for complaining about playoff injuries to All-NBA players: “We can’t even analyze basketball anymore, without dudes being caught up in their feelings”
The NBA analyst has criticized the Lakers superstar LeBron James on his statement regarding NBA fixtures congestion this year.
The Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the first round of the playoffs this season. Their season was hindered due to injury concerns to their star players, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. It has been a season filled with injuries, recently Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was also sidelined.
LeBron James has been one of the players who has been vocal about the short turnaround time. He feels that the players did not get enough time to recover from last season. Therefore most of them have suffered from injuries.
While a lot of people have agreed with the views of the Akron Hammer, there were people who opposed him. The first one to oppose the statement was Lakers legend and analyst Shaquille O’Neal. Stephen A. Smith was second in line to disagree with the Lakers superstar.
“We can’t even analyze basketball anymore, without dudes being caught up in their feelings,” Stephen A Smith criticizes the players for complaining.
Smith does not directly talk about the congested schedule for the NBA this season. But he called James the ‘ringleader’ of complainers. it was a direct dig towards the Lakers superstar who has been at the top of the game for several years now. Smith on First Take opined, “We can’t even analyze basketball anymore, without dudes being caught up in their feelings.”
While Smith calls out other players aswell who have complained regarding the NBA schedule. But his prime target was obviously LeBron James who has spearheaded the argument. However, the NBA veteran definitely has a point as we have seen multiple players get sidelined during the season.
For fans, it has been tough to see players like Kawhi Leonard, Trae Young and Giannis Antetokounmpo get injured and miss the crucial playoffs. Some of the players have looked very jaded as the season has gone by. So it definitely puts them at risk of inflicting severe injuries.
This won’t be the first time that Smith takes a dig at the Lakers talisman for expressing his views. While we can also expect LeBron to come up with reciprocation. After all, he is not someone who is known to hold back in these types of arguments.
