“The Bucks are the dumbest team in NBA Finals history”: Kendrick Perkins goes off on Giannis and co after their Game 2 loss to Devin Booker and the Suns

Kendrick Perkins believes the Milwaukee Bucks are the dumbest team in the history of the NBA Finals after losing Game 2 to the Suns. 

The Milwaukee Bucks fought tooth and nail to get a hold of Game 2. There was even a moment with a little over 4 minutes left in the bout that saw a score of 103-97 and the Bucks had possession at the time. However, a Pat Connauhgton missed 3 and couple Chris Paul and Mikal Bridges buckets later and the lead was back up to double digits. The Bucks would never recover from this. 

Being down 2-0 isn’t exactly a death sentence for any team but it certainly makes Game 3 a do or die situation. No team has ever come back from down 0-3 and with the Bucks being at home, hopefully they can make this series competitive again.

As for the performances in Game 2, it was the Giannis Antetokounmpo show all-around. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday shot 12-37 from the field, collectively and did not contribute a dime on the offensive end of the floor. Though Holiday has been exceptional on the defensive end, he hasn’t been his usual aggressive self as of late. 

Kendrick Perkins calls the Bucks the dumbest team in NBA Finals history. 

The obvious knock anyone has on the Bucks when they fail is Mike Budenholzer and his lack of adjustments during the game. Kendrick Perkins however, has stuck to a more basic form of criticism and simply called Milwaukee, “The dumbest team in NBA Finals history.”

If Perkins is solely referring to Game 2, then he could not be more wrong. It goes to show that he perhaps did not watch that game and is regurgitating opinions from others he may have seen online. 

The Milwaukee Bucks played a near perfect game last night in terms of getting their men open shots and extending positions on the defensive end of the floor. There were a bevy of defensive possessions for the Bucks where they played the Suns to near perfections, only to be bailed out by a cheeky Ayton and-1 or Chris Paul shot at the buzzer. 

As for the open shots, there is nothing else they could other than make those shots. There were no outright ‘dumb plays’ from Giannis and company last night and Perkins is absolutely in the wrong on this one. The Suns will likely not drain 20 3s in another game this series as they are not the Utah Jazz so the Bucks have that to look forward to.
