“LeBron James, not Dwyane Wade, is the best Miami Heat player of all time”: Tyler Herro surprises everyone by picking Lakers star over D-Wade

Second-year player Tyler Herro calls LeBron James the best Miami Heat player of all time.

The 13th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Herro was selected by the Miami Heat. The 21-year old is one of the most promising talents in the league currently. In his 1st year with the Heat, he was named All-Rookie second team.

Herro came into the limelight during the 2020 Orlando Bubble. The Heat guard had some noteworthy performances during the 2020 Playoffs.

The 2019 rookie became the 1st player in NBA history born in the 2000s to play in the conference finals. Herro had had his career-high 37-points in Game Four of the 2020 ECF against the Boston Celtics.

As the Heat clinched a berth in the 2020 NBA Finals, Herro had another great moment when he became the youngest player in NBA history to score the most no of 3-pointers.

The 21-year old averaged 15.1 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 3.4 APG on a 43.9% shooting from the field and 36.0% from the 3-point line in the 2020-21 season coming off the bench.

Herro, who has played his first 2 seasons with the Heat recently, revealed that LeBron James is his favorite Miami Heat player of all time.

The Heat guard was recently asked as to who is the best Heat player of all time, to which Herro had the following answer,

“I have to say, LeBron James,” Herro said with a laugh. “I mean, you can’t go wrong. D-Wade, LeBron, either-or, but I feel like growing up for me LeBron was probably my favorite player on the Heat.”

Herro’s answer might come across as a surprise to Heat fans and basketball fans around the globe. There is no doubt that LeBron got the city of Miami back-to-back NBA championships during his 4-year stint with the franchise.

The former Heat star won 2 regular-season MVPs and also was back-to-back Finals MVP with the Heat.

However, one cannot deny that LeBron wouldn’t have been able to achieve so much without Dwayne Wade, who he also considers as his elder brother.

Wade played 15-seasons with the Miami Heat and won the city 3 championships. His performance in the 2006 NBA Finals remains one of the best Finals performances in the league’s history.

The Heat veteran averaged 34.7 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 2.7 SPG, and 1.0 BPG on a 46.8% shooting from the field during the 2006 Finals, leading to Dwade being crowned Finals MVP.

Herro choosing LeBron over Dwayne Wade probably stems from the fact that the 21-year old is a zoomer and must not have seen what Wade did during his initial years for the Heat franchise especially, in 2006 winning his 1st NBA title.
