Jemimah Rodrigues scores 2nd consecutive half-century: The Indian batter didn’t let her slow start go waste at Trent Bridge.

During the seventh match of the ongoing inaugural season of The Hundred (Women’s) between Trent Rockets and Northern Superchargers in Nottingham, Northern Superchargers batter Jemimah Rodrigures has registered her second consecutive half-century in the tournament.

Opening the batting with captain Lauren Winfield-Hill (33), Rodrigues put together a 64-run opening partnership to lay a solid foundation for others to follow.

Scoring at a strike rate of less than 100 by the halfway mark, Rodrigues made it a point to not give away on her start. Instead, the right-hand batter capitalized it to an extent that she ended up scoring 61 (40) with the help of 10 fours.

With Superchargers losing Winfield-Hill and Laura Wolvaardt (3) in quick succession, Rodrigues took the mantle upon herself finding boundaries at a brisk pace in the second half of her innings.

It was on the 77th delivery that Rodrigues hit a lucky boundary off Nat Sciver through the third-man region to complete her half-century. The 20-year old player hit as many as three boundaries against the English all-rounder.

Other than their opening pair, Superchargers also thrived on the back of Laura Kimmince scoring a brisk 31 (13) with the help of seven fours to power her team to 149/7 in 100 balls.

With bowling figures of 20-9-15-4, Sammy-Jo Johnson was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts. Apart from Johnson, Heather Graham, Katherine Brunt and Sarah Glenn also picked a wicket apiece.
