Ashes: England announce playing XI against Australia for the first Test
The historic Ashes battle is back again to reignite the cricket’s sporting carnival between Australia and England. It’s not a mere cricket match but an emotion between 2 nations.
Earlier, Australia have announced their playing XI and now England have announced it. Joe Root will play his first Ashes as a captain and will look to make the most of it.
Alastair Cook’s experience will come into play in the all-important clash and it is certain that England will get benefited from him apart from Joe Root’s astute captaincy traits.

All that hype of Ben Stokes is unheard. Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow’s presence makes a good middle-order. Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad can bat as well when there is need to.
The pace battery comprising the likes of Woakes, Broad and Anderson, England’s bowling looks much better on paper. Picking up the lengths in unfamiliar territory and adapt to the conditions as quickly as possible should be England’s intentions.
